A DAY AT THE BALLPARK WITH JOHN ADAMS
On July 11, 2013, John Adams treated my daughter Sophia and me to a day at the ballpark. We met John at Great Lakes Brewing, and with his omnipresent bass drum in tow, we all rode down to Progressive Field on Lolly the Trolley. We sat with John in his bleacher seats for the whole game. Afterward, we watched as John signed autographs and let school kids who were boarding nearby school buses bang on the drum as we waited for the trolley to pick us up. When we got back to Great Lakes, we found our cars and drove over to Curbside Coffee on Lorain Avenue to listen to some country music and bluegrass tunes. John played drums and I sat in and played harmonica and sang a few with the band. The ladies in attendence looked after my daughter like a room full of doting aunties and grandmothers. That was an incredible day that Sophia and I will never forget! I am glad I took some photos to look back on and smile about.
